2024 Pub of the Year
The Park Inn is a traditional street corner pub with a long history of serving the local community of Shirley in Southampton, UK. There has been a pub on this corner since 1834. Fully refurbished and modernised in 2016 it has a single bar yet still retains a lounge and public bar feel with room to either stand at the bar or sit at tables. Fronting both Shirley Park Road and Carlisle Road, there is a small outside area with tables and a smoking shelter.
Please note that parking is limited in the vicinity, to our best advice is to leave the car at home and enjoy your visit without the worry of driving. We make no apologies for the absence a pool table, fruit machines or jukebox, so be prepared to engage in some good old-fashioned chat. We’re not a foodie pub but on Fridays the landlady often home cooks some pies, scotch eggs or sausage rolls, which are very popular even for takeaway!

We consider our quiz night to be the best around. We have a full house every Wednesday evening and most Sunday evenings. Booking is advised. Proceeds go to a local charity.

Wadworth Real Ales
The Beer //
We are a Wadworth Pub. They have been brewing beer in the beautiful market town of Devizes, in Wiltshire, since 1875. The brewery combines the tradition of craft beer with modern production techniques and systems. We also have visiting beers.
IPA
We consider Henry’s IPA to be one of the best; it’s a light bronze ale with delicate malt aromas it is an easy drinking session ale with cereal notes and a lingering finish; just perfect, with an ABV of 3.6%.
6X
6X is the jewel in Wadworth’s crown. Our most popular beer, for many ale drinkers, 6X is the only option, so if you’ve never tried it, don’t wait any longer. Full bodied and distinctive, it’s a strong premium ale with an ABV of 4.1%.
Horizon
Horizon is the perfect beer to be enjoyed all year round, although it is ideal for summer. Light in colour but full in flavour. It offers zesty, citrus and hop aromas and a crisp, tangy finish on the palate with an ABV of 4.0%.
Swordfish
Swordfish ale is a unique blend of Wadworth beer and Pusser’s Navy Rum (rationed to the Navy during WWII). For every pint of Swordfish sold nationally, Wadworth donates 5p to the charity, Navy Wings. ABV 5%.
